The Maritime Affairs Group (MAG) is a special interest group of the Institute of Field Archaeologists.

The group exists to provide a forum for practicing maritime archaeologists and to advise IFA council on issues relevant to underwater sites, intertidal and nautical archaeology.

The group will contribute to the maintainance of high standards in archaeology by serving as a focus for discussion about practice, conditions, training and results in the fields of maritime, underwater and coastal archaeology.

This site contains details of MAG's constitution and activities. This includes published and proposed technical papers, copies of group bulletins and information on seminars coming up and past. The seminar series has produced many interesting papers on current practice and research, abstracts of these papers are available on-line.

WELCOME to the new MAG website. Please feel free to Email comments on design and/ or content.
